As you know the Hullabaloo is coming up this Saturday, we are going to tell you some about it. We are going to inform you about booths, the raffle, and the weather.

We are crossing our fingers about the weather. Hope that it is sunny, with clouds, and no rain. It is going to be sunny with a high of 61 and a low of 45. Yeah! It’s going to be a good day. You might need a jacket though!

How many raffle tickets did you sell? Did you buy any? Think about it you could actually win a thousand dollars! Some people even sold 100! What would you do for a thousand dollars?

Come and join us for the Hullabaloo on this Saturday, October 13. If you come you will have loads fun!

Awkward Halloween

A funny story about Halloween of 2018. This is my funny and awkward story, from Lily Anderson. '' I was trick or treating with one of my friends and was going down a Cul De Sac not far from her house.'' said Lily, '' There was a house near the bottom of the Cul De Sac. We were making our way down the Cul De Sac, when we got to the house. The house wasn't dingy or anything, but when me and my friend got there, there was a lady in a worn Cat in the Hat costume. A man was telling her that he would take a picture.'' exclaimed Lily, '' The woman dropped the candy and told the man he made her drop the candy. Then while giving my friend's brother a handful of candy, she turned to the camera and smiled. Then the man told the woman that she was blocking the kid's face, that was mine. Then she moved out of in front of me and we all smiled. this was awkward because, '' Lily said,'' My friend nor I knew who the man was. So that results to say he was a stranger to both of us.''

Welcome to the Year of Purple

According to The Pantone Color Institute, the color of the year selected for 2018 is Ultra Violet.

Below is an excerpt from
the New York Times Morning Briefing
for January 9, 2018:

This year the shade is Ultra Violet. “We wanted to pick something that brings hope and an uplifting message,” the institute’s director, Leatrice Eiseman, told The Times.

In Phoenician times, purple dye was made from the mucus of sea snails in the coastal city of Tyre, in what is now Lebanon.

Because the color was difficult and expensive to produce, it became associated with power and royalty, from ancient Rome to the kingdoms of Europe. In the 1500s, Queen Elizabeth I decreed that only members of the royal family could wear the color.

In 1856, a British chemist, William Henry Perkin, made the color more accessible when he accidentally created a purple dye while trying to concoct a treatment for malaria.

More than 160 years later, a color that’s rare in nature is about to have its moment.

For more on the color purple, read on.

Do you think they picked a good color for the year?
